Urban Dog Photography was started by photojournalist Renee Carolla back in 2008.
Renee's professional photography career spans over 30 years. As a young pup, she was hired fresh out of college to join a newspaper staff in her home state of New Jersey. She photographed a wide-range of assignments in the greater New York City area . . . everything from Presidential debates to hometown parades, to Manhattan's famous fashion week to summer ball games at Yankee stadium. Yep. Bruce Springsteen concerts too!
With many Press awards and an impressive portfolio, she was offered a full-tuition scholarship to get her Master's in Visual Communications, at Ohio University's E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. After completion she purchased a small weekly newspaper and relocated to the coast of SC.
Seven years later, she sold her newspaper, dug her toes into the sand and started a beach portrait/wedding photography business on Hilton Head Island. After ten years of sand, she headed toward the mountains and relocated in magical Greenville, SC. It was there, that she went completely to the dogs . . .
In 2008, Urban Dog Photography was born. Her studio became the first and remains the only 100% Pet dedicated Studio in the Upstate.
On days when she's not in the studio or photographing adoptable dogs at Greenville County Animal Care, she can be found out on the trails or in her cozy GVL home with Sophie and Thumper, two of the most amazingly pawfect rescue dogs to ever walk this earth! :)
